Reimagining the Look of Used Car Sales

In an industry dominated by hyper-masculine visuals and a whole lot of sameness (think chrome, flames, checkered flags, and default fonts) Automobiles Unlimited is rewriting the rules. Run by identical twins Lexy and Katy, this woman-owned dealership has been quietly flipping the script in Ozark, Missouri for years—buying, inspecting, financing, and selling each car with transparency and integrity.

Shifting Gears

Opened in 1996 by their dad (a former hairstylist turned car guy), the dealership grew into a family business when Katy stepped in full-time nearly a decade ago, followed by Lexy in 2022. Together, they’ve transformed a typical used car lot into a high-touch, full-service experience; from sourcing to inspecting vehicles to securing financing and offering post-sale support. They truly own what they do and it shows! 

The original logo was made by Lexy to reflect their dad’s style and served the business well for a long time. But as the brand grew up, it needed to look as capable and future-facing as the people running it. We saw the opportunity to give them a visual system that would carry the weight of their reputation and open the door to a new, broader audience—especially those who may feel alienated by the traditional car buying experience. Keep it about cars, but make it more personable!

The Design Direction — Bladerunner meets Midwest Racetrack

Inspired by neon, oil spill gradients and a love of the 90’s, we leaned into a bold but intentional, clean aesthetic that brought color and personality to an industry that is largely stuck in grayscale. The new logo features a custom logotype with an embedded track loop that nods to both the “automobiles” and the "unlimited" aspects of their name.

To balance all of that energy, we built a brand that could scale from social media to signage, print all the way down to unique needs like car fresheners, decals, and pocket folders. Their bold, bright palette was deliberately chosen to speak to women and more modern car buyers, without turning off longtime customers or leaning into gendered tropes.

This was a rare kind of project; with total trust from clients who had a clear vision and a seriously good sense of humor. We didn’t just make them look different. We helped them look true to themselves. And for a used car dealership in 2025—thats revolutionary.
