Building a Brand as Curated as the Glassware
Garlic Girl Vintage started as Washington, D.C.’s favorite pop-up-shop for vintage glassware and curated decor. When the business expanded to a brick & mortar, they needed their established cool, vintage, upscale vibes structured into a consistently classy, expandable brand identity.

Logo & Brand Identity
With romanticism, queerness, and curated vintage at the forefront of Garlic Girl, their updated identity needed to match a strong aesthetic. Inspired by iconic colorful old glassware and combined with a sultry optical illusion, we built a logo that immediately captures the Garlic Girl vibe—vintage, sapphic, and a little magic.

Branded Apparel Design
When complemented by a handmade type system, a refined color palette, and sparkle brand motifs, this visual identity brings flexibility and freshness across the entire brand. As a visual system, the Garlic Girl brand has been expanded to social graphics, print pieces, stickers, t-shirts, totes, and more—all while staying the coolest, gayest vintage store on the block.

Store Signage & Assets
From hangtags to sidewalk signage, every corner of the store carries the brand.

Client Feedback
“Bayless and the rest of the Kidsister team were a joy to collaborate with — I felt giddy every time I saw an email pop up from them! Their approach is thoughtful, innovative, iterative, well-researched and fun. They understood that the brand I wanted to create didn’t just represent a store with colorful glassware, but a queer-centric community space for customers to connect and find inspiration. And that’s exactly what they delivered! They understood the vision and never tried to tamp it down.
My store has been open for about seven months now, and our customers are as obsessed with the branding as what’s inside the shop itself. Kidsister helped make sure GGV wasn’t just a transactional retail moment, it was a joyful, aesthetic experience customers want to carry with them. Not only did they create beautiful collateral, they provided me the structure and guidance to know and grow my brand. I can’t wait to work with them again!”
